Speaking of: Changing in Your 20s

I've felt a lot of pressure in my 20s to always feel like life is changing. To always be making new friends. Switching jobs every two years. Moving cities every four. Finding new hobbies.

And I think this pressure does more good than it does bad. It's important to keep trying new things and not settle too quickly because you never know what you'll discover about yourself in the process.

But as much as I think your 20s are about trying new things, I also think they're about figuring out what you like. They're about solidifying what the cornerstones of your social, personal, and professional life are going to be and doing what you can to start building out that foundation. It's about trying out a new routine and going,"There's something about this that feels really great, and I'm gonna settle into this groove for a few months or a year and see where it takes me."

I've come around to the fact that I shouldn't feel guilty for keeping some things constant in my life. Just because I'm not always moving doesn't mean I'm stuck. It just means I've found a place I like.
