Speaking of: Doing Things I Don't Want to Do

I've fallen into a routine of asking myself two questions whenever something arises that I don't really want to do — things like sending a tough email to a coworker or calling a customer support number or filling out an annoyingly long survey. Those questions are:

  1. Am I gonna have to do it eventually regardless?

  2. Is there any reason to believe it will be easier if I wait?

If the answers to those questions are "Yes" and "No" respectively, I do the thing immediately because I clearly have no good excuse.
