Speaking of: Falling in Love Again

I've heard that when you're in a serious relationship with someone, you might not feel "in love" with that person every day. There isn't always that same spark of obsession you felt when the relationship was new. The novelty fades. The patience lessens. The curiosity in each other's quirks shrinks. Some days just aren't as wonderful.

Yet there are also times when something happens that makes you fall in love all over again, whether it's catching a glimpse of that certain knowing smile only you get to see, or letting a movie night devolve into a 1:00 am fit of laughter and scattered Goldfish, or going for an evening walk and finding every way to add another detour into the route so you never have to stop talking, or watching her stand up for herself at work and thinking about how someone so remarkable happened to fall in love with you. There are some moments where the magnitude of the emotion revisits you, and you're hooked on the feeling like it's Day 1 all over again.

I feel this way. Except with Elton John's music. The dude is a freaking genius, and I rediscover that fact every four months. You have my heart, Elton.
