Speaking of: Litmus Songs

Despite popular belief, I was not put on this Earth to judge your music taste. I generally don't care what you listen to so long as you're passionate about it and can articulate why you like it. Beyond that, you might get a mental halo if we have the same taste, but I won't think less of you.

That being said, in my mind, there are certain "litmus songs" that, no matter what your taste in music is, any true music fan should be able to appreciate. "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley. "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys. "Life On Mars?" by David Bowie. These, in my opinion, are non-negotiable. You don't have to like them. But if you can't listen to them and be moved or see why they're genius works of art, then, well, go die in a hole.

And by that, I obviously really mean give them another chance.
