There are plenty of songs, movies, photographs, and other works of art that I find remarkably moving. But in my experience, none of those quite reach the intensity of walking out of a great musical. For whatever reason, musicals always challenge the emotional thresholds I often think I'm limited too. Every time I walk out of a musical, my emotional fabric feels as if it has been stretched a little wider, as if it's ready to love deeper and fall harder and feel everything more fiercely. Perhaps it's just my psyche trolling me by saying, "The jokes on you; we can clearly produce these extreme emotions, and we just choose not to."
