Speaking of: When You Think You Took the Perfect Shot

Sometimes when I'm out and about doing some photography, I'll spend 30, 40, 45 minutes in a single spot trying to get the exact shot I want. It can be pretty difficult to get my camera to see exactly what my imagination does, and every shot brings with it its own share of challenges. Yet across all the shoots I've done, no matter the circumstances or environment, there is one thing that has stayed remarkably consistent between all of them.

Whenever I take a photo and my brain goes, "I think I just got the perfect shot," I'm exactly one shutter click away from getting the perfect shot.

This doesn't just apply in photography. I feel it when I'm recording music. I feel it when I'm working on computer graphics. I feel it when I'm making freaking PowerPoint slides at work. I might think something is complete, but that really just means I'm a few minutes of work away from it actually being the best it can be, and that few minutes is the difference between doing good work and doing great work.
